  • Aonuma Talks next Zelda for Wii, and 3D remake of Link to the Past

    Posted November 11th by jsharp

Official Nintendo Magazine recently had an interview with Eiji Aonuma about all things Zelda. He mentions some thoughts on how he’s always thinking of the next Zelda game, and also his thoughts on a 3D remake of A Link to the Past:

Ocarina of Time was the first title I worked on, and I was continuously tackling challenges every day during its development, so I think this is the title I feel I impacted the most. I believe that experience made me what I am now. I always think about what we couldn’t do and what didn’t work well in the previous game when we start a new title, but there’s no game that I would want to actually change as such. I have to say though, the first Zelda game that I played and felt potential in was Link to the Past. I’m actually very interested in what it would be like if we remade that title as a 3D game.

Aonuma also said he wants to try to surprise gamers with the next Zelda game. He didn’t comment on the specific graphical style, but he mentions that the graphics will depend on the storyline and gameplay.

I don’t know about you guys, but a 3D remake of A Link to the Past would be amazing! A DS or Wii version would be awesome to me!

I’ve just been letting everything happen without me lately. My life’s been really dull recently. Such is life. I just don’t have much to say right now. Not that it matters.

I haven’t gotten much done recently, but oh well. Shrug. I haven’t been up to much. Pfft.
